Here at Skinnydip London we love supporting Young British Talent. Each month we will chat to a creative young thing and set them the task of illustrating their favourite Skinnydip products! Their artwork will be made into banners which can be seen on the Skinnydip homepage.

Stephanie Rachel Young is a Fashion Marketing graduate from Northumbria University. Her quirky illustration style and passion for textiles got a nod of approval from Henry Holland during Graduate Fashion Week and she couldn't live without pizza.

Describe your style.
My personal style sits at either end of the colour spectrum, strangely enough. Half of the time I wear a lot of cheery colours, fun prints and mixed textures, which you would probably expect from looking at my work, but the other half of the time I love wearing black on black.

Your final collection was bursting with colour, what inspired you?
An annoyingly vague answer would be that everything inspired me. I'm a daydreamer so something would pop into my head and I would think 'oh, that's funny, let's see what I can do with that'. It was a very self indulgent collection in the sense that I really just did whatever I wanted to do, it was a homage to what I love and I think you can see a part of my personality in my work. 
Of course I couldn't just work with my own musings, so the key themes running through the collection is the wonderful world of kitsch, hoarding, and the 'internet girl' generation. Saying that, I can see a part of myself in all of those themes so I must just get off on my own narcissism, haha. 

What is your favourite item from the new AW13 Skinnydip collection?
I love all the candy jewelled phone cases but it has to be the Pom Pom Phone Charms due to my love of coloured faux fur.

Who was the last person you chose to follow on Instagram?
It was a complete stranger from Tokyo who was posting a lot of photos of their surrounding whilst out and about, just so I could get my Japan fix. Ah, the joys of social networking!

This week sees London Fashion Week come to a close. What been your favourite collection so far?
Sophia Webster's presentation was gorgeous and made me smile. Other highlights for me over the week were Ashish and House of Holland, J. JS Lee, Nasir Mazhar and Peter Pilotto. Also, I can't wait to catch up with what Meadham Kirchhoff showed today!
