Everyone meet Emily Brinkley, a super cool, crazy talented UK illustrator. Our massive girl crush on Emily far surpasses her AMAZE-BALLS illustrations which are pretty darn snazzy too. We had a sit down with her to discuss all things creative...
How did you get into illustrating?
I always grew up thinking I wanted to get into fashion design but quickly realised I enjoyed drawing the clothes so much more than making them! So that's when I discovered fashion illustration and it's what I've been into ever since.
Where do you get your inspo from?
I'm obsessed with sixties and seventies fashion so Tumblr and Pinterest are great for discovering illustrators and fashions from these decades.
Fave Instagram account at the mo?
I love @jacquelinedenton- she's an illustrator who makes crazy psychedelic images and she also has a quirky retro personal style.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
Hopefully I will have gained enough success to be able to work as a freelance illustrator, and I also want to get more involved with print design and textiles.
How would you describe your personal style?
Sixties school girl.
What’s on your Skinnydip wishlist?
I really want the Pink Planet Cross Body Bag so I can create a sixties space-age look!
